Udo Preuss studied mechanical engineering with specialization in the field of aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Munich and graduated in 1992. Afterwards he started his training as a patent attorney at one of the largest patent law firms in Germany, at the District Court Duesseldorf, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court. He is registered as a German Patent Attorney since 1996 and as a European Patent Attorney since 1998. In 2011 he completed the follow-up studies “European Industrial Property Rights” at the Distance University Hagen in 2011 with the Master of Laws (LL.M.).
After Udo Preuss worked at the patent law firm where he was trained for a few years and since 2000 as partner and managing director of a medium-sized patent attorney firm in Munich, he joined KBS in 2005. Since then Udo Preuss convinces our clients with his assertiveness and his efficient work. His well-developed sense of entrepreneurial thinking and acting and his intensive preparation makes him a competent contact person. Furthermore our clients appreciate his long-standing litigation experience. Especially in oral proceedings he confidently fights for their interests. “This is where Udo really shined”, is what Jim Barns of the Caterpillar EAME IP said about him after an Oral Hearing in opposition proceedings at the European Patent Office. For Udo Preuss an intensive and trustful relationship with his clients is the key for a successful cooperation. The concept “trust” is emphasised in each and every of his presentations. Udo Preuss speaks German and English and in his spare time he likes to go mountain biking, hiking, skiing and paragliding.
